Since his debut in 2001, Mikey Nicholls has always been known as
a star on the rise.
In the past five and a half years, Nicholls has transformed
himself from a slightly built, inexperienced kid with potential,
into a young man whose name is growing as quickly as his
stature.
Now a 220 pound wrestling machine, Nicholls has made his name by
not just wrestling all over Australia but by wrestling all over
the globe.
Mikey has wrestled for many promotions in Australia including
PWA and UWA while making Explosive Pro Wrestling his home. He
was the first two time champion in EPW’s history.
In 2005, Nicholls accepted an invitation to travel to Los
Angeles to train at the Inoki dojo. While there, Mikey received
tutelage from Kendo Ka Shin, a former IWGP junior heavyweight
champion and fighter in the PRIDE organisation (now owned by UFC).
He was also fortunate to receive tutelage from Antonio Inoki
himself.
Having impressed New Japan officials, Mikey was flown to Japan
to participate against IWGP junior heavyweight champion, Minoru
Tanaka, and Hiroki Goto in a tag team encounter.
Having conquered Australian wrestling, he now hopes to continue
to make a name for himself on the international wrestling scene.
