In 2002, Chad Allegra debuted in Cincinnati. After wrestling for
three years, Allegra had made a fair name for himself through
out the Midwest. But his first big break came when he was
spotted at the NWA’s Annual Convention in 2005.
NWA Pro’s Dave Marquez saw plenty of talent in this young man
and invited him to train with the world’s best at the New Japan
Pro Wrestling dojo in Southern California. Now, Marquez is
probably regretting that decision.
Because it was there that Karl ‘the Machine Gun’ Anderson was
born. Anderson was a brash and obnoxious individual who has a
penchant for the ladies and for saying the most inappropriate
things at the most inappropriate time. Of course this is all by
design as Anderson grew his name by riling up Hispanic fans all
over the West Coast with his antics. Anderson quickly became one
of the most hated men on the So-Cal wrestling scene.
As much trouble as it has caused, his arrogant ways have opened
the door to much success. Anderson is a former NWA British
Commonwealth Heavyweight champion. But it has been his success
with his tag team partner, Joey Ryan,
which has been most noteworthy.
On July 8th, Ryan and Anderson won a three way tag match,
including former WWE stars, ‘X-Pac’ Sean Waltman and Kidman, to
become the new NWA World Tag Team Champions. They are the first
champions since the NWA stripped Team 3-D of the belts earlier
this year.
