All around the globe, the name Fergal Devitt inspires thoughts
of pro wrestling excellence. Fergal’s journey in professional
wrestling has taken him all over the world.
Devitt received his formative training by commuting from his
homeland of Ireland to the British mainland to train at NWA
Hammerlock. Fergal quickly became well versed in the art of hard
nosed British professional wrestling. His skill in hold and
counterhold wrestling is phenomenal and has served him well in
his travels.
During two stints in the United States, Fergal impressed many a
promoter and dominated many a wrestler. It was during one of
these trips that he was spotted by scouts for New Japan Pro
Wrestling, the oldest and most established wrestling group in
Japan.
Fergal has been a full time member of the New Japan roster for
almost 18 months. In that time he has faced many of the finest
wrestlers in New Japan including the current IWGP champion
Hiroshi Tanahashi.
Devitt is almost a member of CTU, the single most successful
group of junior heavyweight wrestlers the world has ever seen.
Their members include the IWGP junior heavyweight champion
Minoru Tanaka, Jado, Gedo and one of the all time greats in
professional wrestling, Jushin ‘Thunder’ Liger.
Despite all his accomplishments, you get the feeling Devitt will
add plenty more to the list before he is finished with
professional wrestling.
