Hartley Jackson Forgoes Tournament – Steps
Up to Face Real American Heroes
In a shock to NWA officials, Hartley Jackson has withdrawn from
the Australian Championship Tournament set to take place on
November 23rd in Perth, Australia.
Jackson requested to be removed from the tournament so that he
could represent Australia in taking up the challenge set by the
NWA World Tag Team Champions, Karl Anderson and Joey Ryan.
“After ten years as a part of Australian wrestling, I’ll be
damned if some loud mouth yanks are gonna come into our backyard
and act like they’re runnin’ the place,” Hartley said. “Anderson
& Ryan may be the NWA World tag team champions but on November
23rd, they better prepare themselves for a good old fashioned
Australian barney.”
Jackson and Anderson are no stranger to each other. The two
trained together at the New Japan dojo in Los Angeles in the
winter of 2005. But there is certainly no love lost between the
two as Jackson described the ‘Machine Gun’ as ‘your typical
arrogant American who thinks he’s better than all Australians
“who ride around on kangaroos and hunt crocodiles” ’.
While Jackson is ready to take the fight to the self proclaimed
‘Real American Heroes’, he is yet to find a tag team partner to
join him.
This means that we are, once again, one person short in the
Australian Championship tournament. NWA officials will hold one
more qualifying match at the next show held by their Australian
affiliate, Explosive Pro Wrestling.
EPW’s Re-Awakening VI
(3rd November) will see South Australia’s Damian Slater face off
against the ‘New Sensation’ AZ Vegara. The winner of this match
will gain the final spot in the tournament.
