Two Qualifying Matches for NWA Australian
Heavyweight Championship Announced.
With the tournament fast approaching, NWA Pro has stepped up the
search for the final three names to compete for the Australian
Championship.
We already know that
Fergal Devitt,
Hartley ‘Jag’ Jackson,
Mikey Nicholls
and Jimmy Payne
were invited to take the first four spots in the tournament. NWA
Pro officials announced that the final four entrants would have
to earn their way into the tournament.
With the help of our affiliate group in Perth, Explosive
Professional Wrestling, we were able to hold a qualifying match
between Victoria’s
Spike Steele and Bobby Marshall. In what was a hard hitting
encounter, Steele
qualified after making Marshall tap to his version of the STF.
Highlights of this match will be on the website soon.

Well lucky for Marshall, he will get a second
bite at the cherry. On the 25th of August,
Explosive Pro Wrestling
will again host an NWA Australian Championship Tournament
qualifying match. Bobby Marshall will take on the ‘Ironman’ of
Australian Wrestling, Davis Storm. But the NWA have warned
Marshall that this will be his final shot at qualifying for the
tournament. These two men have done battle on numerous occasions
and it has always led to exciting encounters. With so much on
the line, this one should be no exception.
With the tournament gathering steam, it has started to receive
plenty of international attention. And as NWA Pro
representative, David Marquez, has announced, a qualifying match
will take place between Cuba’s Rocky Romero and Canada’s own,
Nelson Creed, sometime in the American summer.

After the results of these two matches are known, there will
only be space for one last competitor in this historic
tournament. Who will be the final three entrants to the NWA
Australian Championship tournament? |
