FIRST NAME ANNOUNCED FOR AUSTRALIAN
CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT
On November 23rd 2007, the National Wrestling Alliance will
crown its first Australian wrestling champion in an eight man
single elimination tournament.
However, the first name signed for this tournament in not an
Australian. In fact, he is of Irish heritage.
Around the world, the name Fergal ‘Prince’ Devitt inspires
thoughts of classic, hard hitting wrestling. In a short space of
time, Devitt has become one of the world’s finest exponents of
true technical wrestling.
From his formative training in Britain through to his time spent
in the New Japan dojos, both in LA and Japan, Fergal has trained
hard to become well versed in all styles of wrestling. His
knowledge and technique has helped him adapt to the hard hitting
style that defines New Japan Pro Wrestling, where he has become
one of the few foreigners to secure a contract in the past few
years.
Devitt’s experience and determination will make him a favourite
in this tournament even before the other seven names are
determined. Any wrestler who faces him will have their work cut
out for them in order to progress in the tournament.
